Here is a little information
about myself
Who am I? Where am I going? Those
were the questions that I asked myself daily when I was a
teenager. I'm not sure whether or not I found the answers,
although I've done and seen plenty of things that some people
only dream of.
I was born in Bradford, West
Yorkshire, England. A difficult childhood marks my determination
to become a writer. Over the years, I have developed a passion
for romance and fiction.
In 1969, I joined the Army with
the Duke of Wellington's Regiment, where I served for thirteen
years, travelling around the world.
Later, I took a job as security
guard for a local school. In 1985, a serious car accident left me
partially paralysed, in a wheelchair, having to re-learn
everything, challenging me to make something out of my life.
After my accident, I studied
Information Technology at Thomas Danby College - a college for
students with learning disabilities - from which I graduated with
17 diplomas.
Today, I have embarked on the
greatest challenge of my life: a writing career. I live in the
picturesque Yorkshire Dales, with my wife Betty and our three
grown children.
I love animals, and usually
you'll find me sitting out in my picturesque garden, watching the
wild life roaming across my lawn.
The dales, is only one of the
beauty spots set in the magical countryside of Yorkshire. It is a
very peaceful place and many people come to visit this quiet and
friendly location.
I am determined to keep going. I
don't want to just sit around in a chair all the time. I want to
do something special with my life.
I want to be a good writer.
So far I have achieved far more
than I could have imagined, although I can still only type
fifteen words a minute.
I have a spinal injury and am
virtually paralysed on my left side. I can use my right hand all
right, and I can move my left hand a little. ( It's a good job I
was right handed to start with.)
